Community Service

Your Club is very active and busy providing help in our local community.  There is so much we can do, as individuals and as a club, to make a difference.

You can be very proud to tell your friends and neighbors about the activities Your Club has done and keeps doing in our community.  Just look at some of the past accomplishments and great things going on today…….

Here are some of the activities your Club accomplished that you can be proud to tell your friends and neighbors:

On a regular basis members have made visits to ARC Nature Coast in both Spring Hill and Brooksville.  They do projects and demonstrate computer activities to adults with disabilities.
Members provided computer advice and assistance to the Boys and Girls Club of Hernando County.
Your Club donated money to the Shriner’s Hospital.
Your Club donated a computer system to High Point’s computer club to help their small organization offer computer classes.
Members offered Training Lectures and individual assistance to help people put their emergency contact and medical information on a flash drive.
Your Club donated Sophisticated “Zoom Text” software to the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired so they could offer training to people in Hernando County with visual limitations.
Members gathered school supplies and donated them to East Side Elementary School.  With budget and funding cuts, their need is greater than ever so please consider helping.  We continue to collect school supplies, Box Tops for Education and Campbell Soup labels.
Your Club donated a complete computer system for a student at East Side Elementary School who’s family does not have financial means.   Happily, that computer helped a family with 3 children, who all benefitted.  One child was in elementary, another in middle and the oldest in high school.

Most recently, we have adopted the Dawn Center.  The domestic and sexual violence shelter of Hernando County.  Check out their website to learn more and see their ‘wish list’ of needs. http://www.dawncenter.org/.

On April 20, 2009 your Club presented a computer to the Dawn Center  along with handmade children’s quilts, food and money donated by members.   You can bring donations to the Club whenever you visit and THANK YOU for caring.

Let’s make 2010 another great year for the Hernando Computer Club and the Community Service it performs.  Please offer your help and suggest opportunities where the Club can make a difference.
