Basic Windows Vista

If you are not familiar with using a mouse, you should be prepared to do some “homework” on your home computer to help you with this.Vista is the newest operating system from Microsoft. If you buy a new computer now, it will probably have Vista installed. Its features are very similar to XP, but there are many new features to make your computing experience easier and more enjoyable.
Some of the new features include:
- A different look on many of the screens, with much more information and navigation available from each one. ( you can turn much of this off also, if it is too confusing at first
- A new Immediate search feature will make finding anything on your computer much easier and quicker.
- It comes with Windows Defender, A very useful program to detect and remove adware, spyware and malware, in real time.
- A built-in backup program, Very friendly and useful. Backing up is easy now.
- Sidebar, a little utility that runs on the side of your desktop, (if desired) with many useful and interesting programs you can choose. For instance: local weather with temperature, a nice notepad, headlines from around the world with the full story one click away, and much more. You choose what you want to use or you can turn this feature off.
- Better applications: An appointment calendar, with reminders, Improved Paint program, Improved WordPad, Speech Recognition Program, and more.
- You can find your programs the usual way from the Program List, OR a new feature allows you to type just the first couple of letters of the program name and Vista finds it for you
