Introduction to computers with Windows XP

This course is tailored for the beginning computer user.

XP refers to the version of the operating system, (a program that makes the computer friendly for us to use.)  XP is not the newest operating system, but a very reliable and useful system that has been around for a few years now.

We start with a very brief description of the common hardware that makes up the computer.  Terms we've all heard of,  keyboard, mouse, monitor and tower.

Then we move on to describing the various areas of the desktop (our work area) and how these different areas are useful to us.
We then explore and understand how we open and work within all the various types of programs we might use on our computers.
We can play games, do word processing work, work with photos in many ways, send and receive email with our family and friends, and explore the internet where there is information for any topic imaginable.

If you're a beginning computer user, this is the place to start.
